Champagne Books picked up BAYNE, my sci fi retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It'll be out May next year and is my third book through them.
It feels weird to acknowledge that I am unquestionably a published author now. Especially since these books aren't actually out yet. But they will be, unless I break my contract or Champagne suddenly goes bust. Since neither of those is likely... yeah.
There is a sense of responsibility to keep producing that I didn't expect. That threw me off pace (if you can to call a mental meltdown that) but I have a very good publisher who cares about her authors and who managed to talk me through it.
Right now I'm working on a short story that I'm going to self-publish for free, then I'll be writing PROVIDENCE LOST, which is a novel-length story and likely to take what's left of the year to finish. But I'm in no rush. Not any more. Slow and steady stops me burning out.
