baby shower
The baby shower was fantastic thanks to Miss Marla and Heather <--- love you guys. And also, thanks to all my wonderful friends who showed up to spend time with me. I could not have asked for things to go any better. I am still gloating over the whole thing actually. Everyone seemed to have a great time and all the gifts were so nice. I was pleasantly surprised at all the thought put into the gifts I received from my guy friends. How sweet! It is like Parrin said that she came in the day of the shower and Ken was all sitting there wrapping everything in tissue paper and making it look aesthetically pleasing. She said it was really cute, especially if you know Ken. JC came and brought the cuddly, large, and very nice teddy bears for the baby. He said that was something you will never see him doing again -lugging teddy bears around. Heh! Kano came in with Laci and Sarah looking all cute with a tie on, and picked out some spanish bibs that were so cute and hysterical. Brian, Dave, Michael, and Chris came too. Basically all the guys there put a lot of thought into the shower, and I appreciate that greatly since I am sure most of them have never been to a baby shower before. Last, but certainly not least, I was most pleasantly surprised when Mr. Peter came in with Kristi. He said he wanted it to be a surprise that he was coming, but Kristi accidentally told me on the phone before I left to go down there. Either way, that made my afternoon.
To my girl friends - you surely went over the top and I am so flattered. I received such nice gifts from you all too. Thanks for the wicker baskets with the gingham liners and the cute pack of socks, Marla. Those are really nice and will definitely come in handy. You looked very pretty btw, even with your eye patch, which Heather and I just knew you would find some way to make look cute (and she did by placing black electrical tape over the patch in the shape of an X). There are so many thanks to give - Marla, Heather, Kristi(1), Laci, Sarah, Casey, Andrea, Parrin, Katherine, Chadham, Heather H., Kara, and Kristy(2). I hope I did not leave anyone out. Oh, and most certainly my mother. She and my sister had such a great time and thought all my friends were so nice. The other really cool thing was that it was not smokey at all, especially cause my mom has been sick and the baby does not need to be around smoke. I knew they would not be busy anyway. Dan and I worked that out when I was planning the shower. Shit, he worked there for 8 or so years up until recently, so I knew he would have a pretty good idea about the timing of the shower and conditions at Dave's. So, everything was perfect. I guess I will quit bragging now about what a great day I had and all my great friends. *grin* Oh, and to the few friends that could not make it, that is perfectly fine. Sometimes things just come up that change plans. No hard feelings...
