Heehee, trying to keep me on my toes, huh? ;) I chose swans since spiders make me itchy, thanks for giving me a choice. <3 You've been added to the list, I'll drop you another comment when your bases are done!
Really? I did a Getty search on everything before I threw it at you.
Welp, I'm fine with just the remaining three. Everything else I can thing of right now is already on the list.
*facepalms* When I saw it in print I realized I sounded REALLY RUDE. I apologize. What I meant was that I ran a search to make sure there were multiple pages of available images, since in the past I HAVE managed to ask for things that no one could find pictures of at all.
I wasn't really looking for usability, just volume.
Sorry about the edit...I swear I had a sentence in there originally that I managed to delete that made it sound not quite as horrible, at least. :(
Haha, no worries, my dear! When tone of voice isn't available to convey things (as it isn't, on the 'net), sometimes we sound downright awful. (Which, for the record, you didn't!) It's always good to clarify, and it was VERY thoughtful of you to edit just in case, I do appreciate it. =)
Also, I don't actually use Getty anymore due to them getting crazy about copyright & us having to members-lock things (which I hate to do). I mainly use image favorite'ing sites like Tumblr, WeHeartIt, Vi.Sualize.Us, Favim, Pinterest, so the results tend to be more random, less bountiful, but often prettier and less copyright crazy.
And it makes a lot of sense that you don't use Getty any longer. I think that's a good plan. I still tend to default to it for basic searches because I have no earthly clue how to search places like Tumblr and WeHeartIt.
Those sites honestly confuse the heck out of me. :P Kudos to you for finding good images to work with off of them!
In all of the sites I mentioned, there's a place to search for what's called "tags" - keywords, basically. So you'd type in "blue" or "mouse" or "tea" or whatever, and then get images (or, in Tumblr's case, images + text). Getty's search engine is incredibly powerful & I miss it, though - the more concrete, common, or basic your tag is, the more/better results you'll get. I hope that helps, if you ever venture onto those sites for images! =)
. . . so, basically, what you're saying is that if I ever start an image tumblr, I need to start using this newfangled 'tag' notion or the community is gonna come for my soul. Check!
abandoned houses
spiders (or swans, if you're phobic)
carousels
coral
trying to pick things I haven't used before!

ETA: Same with coral, not finding good images. So, swap those two out when you've got a chance. :)
