Jia often inspires me, because she is awesome. In this case, she inspired me to do the next contest! It's a somewhat like #13, with choosing images, but I added a bit of a twist.
Oh, I love the idea! Now I just need to wait for some freetime. ♥ (And, personally, you guys giving images makes it all the more entertaining -- esp. since we get to see what areas and images greatly attract people. [/sociology nerd])
Well, just from a quick tally, there were only two sets from the flower picture. Of the forty-three other sets, four were done of the night time streetscape, twenty-two of the misty forest scene, and seventeen of the ocean&rocks image

What I found most surprising from the entries to the contest was that, for icon #4, most members blended the second image into the first. I know that's what I did in my example, but I expected more 'little picture in a box within a bigger picture' icons and less blending.
I wonder how many of the trends were influenced substantially by the example icons? Also, I'm very interested to hear about any conclusions (or hypothetical conclusions) you can draw from your data. ^^
Okay, so quick came more to mean I-refuse-to-check-this-more-than-once than the actual time the counting took. I got a smidge carried away. ::sweatdrops::
I'd say the example icons could have had quite a bit more of an influence -- I would make a mention of how many of the icons dealt with trails/paths/streets/walking etc., but I think that has more to do with the mist icon being a path than your icons focusing on a road. ♥ After all, you didn't use any of the images you provided. XD

Hee, you know, with all the analysis I end up wondering whether people who are good at analyzing such things can tell which sets are by the same person....
Also. Poked nosily at your journal and noticed you're taking Calculus. Had to recommend my favorite Calc book. It's the funniest text-ish book I've ever seen, while containing lots of good information and examples that stick in your mind.
Ooh, Calc book. ...Any "textbook" that mentions rollercoasters on its covers (not a picture of one, mind you), is instantly in my good books. Now I just need to see if they'll deliver to a P.O. box... ::plots::

That's a really interesting statement. What exactly do you mean by it?
