Art icons

Aug 07, 2006 01:28

Because I'm a fucking idiot, I deleted the original post of these art bases. At least I didn't lose the code, and the comments are all in my email. Oh well. This whole thing is cut for everyone who has already seen it.

Here are some art icons (or bases, I guess), some I've had on my hard drive for a while, some I whipped up recently on a whim. You must comment and let me know which you are taking! It's basic courtesy, really; these took a lot of time, so the least you can do is show your gratitude by telling me what you're saving.

Also, credit the artists. Not me. It is their work. I will, of course, remove these if any of the artists express displeasure.

Here are the artists and their websites, so you can credit:

David Mack -- Writer and artist of Kabuki, possibly the most gorgeous comic book in existence. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes comics or fine art, because it is a masterpiece in both. Beautiful, really. I recommend "Skin Deep" and "Metamorphosis" even though they are not strictly the first in the series. The first book is more comicky, not as pretty, and not really necessary at all, while the other two are goooorgeous.

Jay Ryan -- I discovered him through the CD art of Andrew Bird's last CD, The Mysterious Production of Eggs. Ryan does a lot of band posters. I think his art is cute and I love the colours..

Michael Bartalos -- I can't find a website for him, and I made these so long ago that I don't remember where I found him, or even if I was spelling his name correctly in my file names. If anyone has a web address, please comment and let me know. *edit* I had his name wrong because I am inept. It's Bartalos, not Bartalo. Anyway, credit him!

Sylvia Ji -- There are only two of these because I'm not wild about her attraction to pink hair. But I like the style.
