A bit early, but I'm not going to post another vid this year, so... tradition time!

My favourite video this year (of my own):
A toss-up between Blinding and Smoke and Mirrors. Probably Blinding, because I felt like I had to tease a coherent character narrative out of a more problematic source, whereas there is nothing in Smoke and Mirrors that MM wasn't already doing 1000 times better.
My least favourite video this year:
Umbrella was very fun, but it was probably the least technically good of this bunch.
Most successful video
I think Somewhere A Clock is Ticking (or maybe Smoke and Mirrors?) got the most comments overall, but you have to take into account the festivids phenomenon. I guess I'm most pleased with the "success" of Smoke and Mirrors because it got a lot of strong responses before reveals, which is always gratifying.
Video most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Mostly I'm just grateful that anyone is still around on LJ to watch my vids!
Most fun video:
Va Va Voom. Because there's a fisting reference somewhere in there and
kiki_miserychic was the only person to call it out.
Video with single sexiest moment:
Well it's not sexy in a non-hilarious sense, but I'm very partial to 2:27 when Merlin magicks Arthurs pants off, for obvious reasons. Honorable mention to 1:47 in the same vid when Merlin needs to use both hands to demonstrate... something.
Biggest vid fail:
LOL, sitting on my ass not making any vids since June.
Hardest video to make:
Nothing was truly difficult this year. I think Your Battlefield may have been hardest in the ending, because the canon ending wanted to go one way but the tone and narrative of the vid sort of wanted to go another way, so it didn't feel entirely satisfying, although I think that was the best I could have made it.
Most unintentionally telling video:
Somewhere a Clock is Ticking was/is very representative of my addiction to Shakespeare and/or English history throughout the year.
(The Shakespeare addiction was fed to my heart's content this year. Live shows attended/yet to attend: Colin Morgan in The Tempest, David Tennant in Richard II, Rory Kinnear/Adrian Lester in Othello, Mark Rylance in Twelfth Night/Richard III, Harriet Walter in Julius Caesar, Jude Law in Henry V, James McAvoy in Macbeth, Tom Hiddleston in Coriolanus, to name but a few. London is fucking awesome.)
Other vidding miscellany:
When it comes to perseverance, I've become very fond of the "half hour rule". Which is to say when the timeline is half-filled and everything you put on it looks like pure shite and you just want to throw the whole thing away, make yourself vid for half an hour each day. And hopefully after a point suddenly it starts looking less shite and somewhat salvageable.
For 2014: Ostensibly a "vidding holiday" with
buffyann in Tenerife, which will probably just end up with the two of us snacking a lot and obsessively rewatching David Tennant rolling around in white paint in Much Ado.
