Quite early on in Her Fearful Symmetry, the new novel by Audrey Niffenegger (of The Time Traveller's Wife fame), there was a scene where the protagonists watch an episode of Doctor Who - more specifically, The Girl in the Fireplace. Note that The Girl in the Fireplace was written by Steven Moffat, who also wrote Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead in season 4.
What I want to know is
whether Niffenegger meant it as a conscious hat-tip (or possibly rude gesture) to Moffat and the significant similarities between Silence in the Library and the Time Traveller's Wife?
Or maybe just a cute coinkidink that I'm reading too much into. :D
