11 years after the
風雲 Storm Riders movie, we finally get a sequel. With the same actors! AND Nic Tse! *hyperventilates*
Okay, let's face it, the first movie was pretty shit. And it's not like I have grandiose expectations for the sequel, either. But it's Storm Riders, motherfuckers. To know the Storm Riders is to know Nicky. Or something.
I never got into the original comics but the spinoff series of prequel novels RULED MY TEENS and singlehandedly got me into writing and probably vidding as well. I remember spending hours fantasising about adapting the novels into a TV series and imagining what scenes I would use for the opening and closing credits. Chinese TV series credits are full-song vid-length affairs, so basically I was vidding in my head long before I'd discovered vidding or fandom or probably even the internet. I was so in love with Striding Cloud so imagine the ECSTASY of finding out that AARON KWOK had been cast as Cloud in the first movie.
I was crushing on Aaron Kwok when I was 8. Back then he used to look like this:

Now he is 44 years old and looks like this:
And he dances like this:

Oh, and Ekin Cheng reprises his role as Wind. I used to really like him as well, mostly because of the HK Triad movie series The Young and the Dangerous.

(I totally had to karaoke that mofo just then. M is laughing in the other room.)
So this is me and my old-skool HK pop culture education. GAH, SO MUCH LOVE that I just had to spam your f-list with youtube videos.
