The Negative Sex by 0mindthegap0, multi, meta.
I'm not a fan of feminist statements to the extent they categorically demonise men. As far as I'm concerned, nothing should ever be categorically anything; issues of power and dominance should be viewed through a gender lens, but it's worth remembering that's only one lens available from a vast trove of other lenses. For that reason, this vid really hits the sweet spot with me. I also think it's very timely, if not for others, then at least for what I've personally been experiencing in fandom of late. It's worth watching for the clear and punchy narrative structure/visual parallels alone, and if the meta resonates with you, all the better.

While I was over on the vidder's LJ, I also gakked an interesting meme that analyses your gender based on browsing history.

Likelihood of you being FEMALE is 72%
Likelihood of you being MALE is 28%

I was surprised at the results that I skewed so highly female, but then it made sense when I scrolled down to see what browsing history was sampled.

Site (Male-Female Ratio)
youtube.com (1)
wikipedia.org (1.08)
ebay.com (1.11)
photobucket.com (0.85)
imdb.com (1.06)
geocities.com (1.08)
livejournal.com (0.68)
gmail.com (0.9)
gucci.com (0.54)

That fucking handbag is still out to skew me. Heh.
