Thank you so much! I'm actually quite surprised at how much Elbow seems to have struck a chord, because this is the only song I know by them and it's many years old. Am not up with the new music. :D Anyway, I'm really glad you enjoyed the vid and thank you so much for commenting.

Being the idiot that I am, I didn't even realise the execution/bowing scene was what I did until one of my betas commented on it. So now I'm all like "why yes, of course I intended for that to happen." *shifty eyes* I'm so glad that you liked the vid! Thank you so much. :)

Oh, this is gorgeous. I had a feeling Merlin would yield a lot of visually stunning vids, so I'm thrilled to see one already :D The movement is wonderful and the "tragedy starting to happen" got me every single time, totally worked for me. Oh, Arthur. ♥

Thank you! The source really is amazing and I can't wait to see what others do with it. (But am also rather glad I got this out early in the game, otherwise I would have been too intimidated after the deluge hits. ;) ) I'm really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the movement in particular, and yay for tragedies because they make us fangirl Arther that much harder. Thank you again for your lovely feedback. :)

At the second You're a tragedy starting to happen, with Guinevere and Lancelot, I actually gasped and brought my hands up to my mouth.

And Merlin throwing the sword becoming the knife he tries to save Arthur from, with that flash of Mordred, I love that. The sheer imagery here - flames and water and red and that last shot of Merlin dragging Arthur up and into blue-yellow light and an entirely different color scheme before it goes dark. I'd seen you mention how much you were looking forward to using all of the red in the series, and I so completely don't think in terms of color that I wasn't even entirely sure what you meant, but this is amazing.

In quick order of images that really jumped out at me - Arthur lowering his head and putting his helmet on after Uther and the executioner raising their arms, and the crowd standing and cheering as he fights, which seems somehow doubly blood-thirsty in slowed time. Arthur being crowned as Prince juxtaposed against him in the jail cell, and of course the entire This can't go on too long ( ... )

I totally squeed out loud when I read this. YAY! You have no idea how much that comment (and of course the rest of your incredible comment) just made my day. As usual your reading of it is so lucid, so incredibly, deliciously on point that I don't even know what to say, I'm just sitting here grinning and nodding vigorously at my computer screen. Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time and thinkies to write such a long, thoughtful comment!

The ending was always supposed to be a hopeful one, of Merlin rescuing Arthur from the red, but of course that doesn't sit on all fours with what actually happens in canon. The slash fangirl in me refuses to think about that part.
