I actually liked this and felt a little sorry for her. O_o Yay! Mission accomplished! Thank you, I'm really flattered that you watched something that you normally wouldn't have. :D
I've had my own "official" YouTube account for ages under "obsessive24", but I actually set up a separate one for this particular vid called "o24productions". I thought this was a good vid to put on YT, but I didn't want it to be traced back to my site if it actually gets quite a few hits.
Anyway, a couple of years ago there was a movement for vidders to set up their own YT accounts to discourage other people randomly uploading our vids onto YT, but the copyright issue became too much to handle and quite a lot of us removed our vids pretty quickly. It's just a shell account now.
For some reason, I really enjoy this song and when I've actually, shame, watched the britney music video for this one a few times cause I really loved how it was edited. heh. It's kinda hard to follow with the low-quality footage at times cause you just don't really see what's going on, but aside from that, I loved how dynamic and entertaining it was. I loved the transiion at 0:56. "Ouch" at 1:21 LOL !!! I liked the part beginning at 2:20, with interwined music video shots and real life one, story within the story, it felt. and I think you handle the rythmn very well and culminating in the end. It was cool to watch :)
This song is awesome. Britney has some talented song writers at her disposal and I think her songs are usually really good. And I agree about the pro vid - I really like it too. But I guess this vid is sort of a reaction to the pro vid as well, because while it was along the same lines they didn't try to delve very deep into her damage, despite the song being perfect for it. (Which is understandable, cos why make yourself look bad in your own music video? Still.)
I'm glad you caught the 0:56 transition! :D Everybody knew that the girl in Justin's video was supposed to be Britney, but just in case anyone didn't. ;) And I'm really glad to hear that it was entertaining. Thank you for your lovely comments!
This is great, Nicky. Although I'm not a fan of Britney I do feel sorry for her and the mess her life has become. It must have been tempting to hold off finishing the vid just to see what happens next.
I love the way you kept it sympathetic without hiding from the fact that moaning about press intrusion whilst actively courting it is at the very least a bit dumb.
The way you've captured that E! documentary style is perfect. The bend zoom effect looks fantastic in this context.
Thank you dear! It's always great to see a comment from you cos I feel like I got a stamp of approval. :D
You're right about wanting to hold off just so you can see what happens next. By the same token, I'm genuinely afraid that this vid is going to become morbidly prophetic and I was jonesing to get it out before an actual suicide attempt. Which is nasty, but given everything we've seen, I really wouldn't be surprised if we saw that in tomorrow's headlines. I guess the truly amazing thing about this whole situation is that everyone can see where this juggernaut is heading - and yet nobody in the world seems able to stop it. Anyway, tangent. Thank you for your kind and thoughtful feedback.
Wow, this is disturbing and sad and brilliantly done. I love the contrast between the grainy, ridiculous paparazzi footage and the ultra-glossy music video footage, the warp effect on those images. I really liked it, but it's sad to watch too, since her life really has gone wildly out of control. And yeah, she can't be held entirely responsible but she's not entirely blameless either, and the video captures that nicely.
Thank you. I was really going for the disturbing behind whatever shiny there is, so it's wonderful to read from your comment that this objective had been achieved.
And I was hoping someone would go for pixellated vs glossy footage as a "vid has character" thing rather than "quality is sucky" thing, hehe. I'm really glad you liked it, and thank you very much for your kind comment.
