First, I have to say I just watched it from work so I hope you won't spank me for that :P You know I don't know much about DW and your vids are most of the time working on a deep level hard to get for the layman. or so I feel.
But the first thought that came to me when I watched this beautiful intro is how much I loved how you make everything flow. One of the thing I love the most as a vid-watcher is to be taken on a trip almost, to have this feeling of "flying" with the vid. And I love how this one moves this way. The intro is simply incredible on that level. The transitions and fades are beautiful and it just moves so beautifully, I loved it. I loved your work on fades throughout the whole vid too

*hugs you* Thank you for always taking the time to watch my vids regardless of whether you know the fandom. I really appreciate that.
From the outset Brad pointed out that this vid is very contextual - it's deeply emotional but it's the kind of emotion that can't really be tapped into unless you know what it pertains to. And so for a non-fandom viewer you're just basically left with a bunch of pretty visuals. I'm extremely pleased, however, that you liked the flow of it; "flying with it" is a great way to put it and I'm really happy that you got that feeling from the vid.
it was like hearing a song from underwater, I loved that. Haha! Well, I'm really glad you thought it worked in context. All I know is that it made both my "audio engineers" curse like sailors. You should have heard the original version of the song! As heresluck said, "did someone put a tin can over the singer's head?"
Thank you again for watching and for writing such lovely feedback. *hugs*
It's still interesting to see a vid about a show you don't know, the experience is different. It's like a vid with a song in a foreign language, the "journey" is different and I think it's cool to have all those different perspective on vidding. :) I'm learning a lot from all those views. Of course, there's always enough prettiness in your work to satisfy and entertain me but I think you really made me feel something here, even if I don't know the show at all. I guessed but I wanted to guess. It made me want to know more about the story. So I think you did a good job :D
Can't wait to do the Nikkathon and get more into details about everything ;) Hehe.

Wow. See, I haven't watched many fanvids before and those I saw were poorly edited... so I'm overwhelmed. This was brilliant!
Of course since I have no clue about these things, I can't make a really qualified comment, but let me tell you that I found it very intense. The song choice was perfect. Now, I always felt that the whole new Doctor Who series and music from the 80s go together very well. I liked that the cut wasn't hectic - you had time to take in the pictures and let them affect you, make an impact. In my opinion, you worked out Ten's dilemma very well.
On a more general note, I wondered:
As the Doctor he doesn't get the luxury of that delusion; he doesn't even get the luxury of this being a real choice.
While becoming human is ultimately pretending to be something he isn't, I'm wondering if (after the events in the finale) he considers or is able to process suicide as a choice/decision.
Hey you! *schnoogles* How pleased am I that you came out of vid hermit-dom to watch this? SO pleased! :D And, thank you, thank you! Qualified comments my arse; I always say a vid begins and ends on its emotional content and I LOVE that you found it intense. And I was cursing the slowness of the music at certain points so I'm so glad that you thought it was a good thing to have some of the clips extended like that.
I'm wondering if (after the events in the finale) he considers or is able to process suicide as a choice/decision.The way I always see the Doctor (although particularly Ten over Nine) is that he labours under a very dense layer of delusion. Of purpose and fun and frivolity and general mania. And the reason for that, I feel, is that no sane person can function after all that he's gone through. With this vid I tried to gather every bit of that horrific past and slam it through all at once; but I think there's no way he could allow himself to feel that. We have in-built denial mechanisms and I think his is functioning on
