Piss-drunk, as the grads in the firm went out for a dinner at a Japanese restaurant tonight and I made the mistake of drinking my share of sake plus somebody else's, so let me see if I can remember everything...
Firstly, vid recs. Both very highly recommended.

The film is seldom seen, so don't let lack of knowledge about the fandom stop you from downloading this vid. Brad's short notes and the vid itself are all that you need to know. I'm so impressed by the way it utilised the music. As I had said to Brad prior to seeing the vid, I had no idea how he was going to vid this song. It's so layered with such strong, odd percussion, and I was just dying to see how he addressed it. More than that, it's an unbelievably strong statement about a myriad of things, and inspires emotional flailing and thinkiness, and were I any less drunk I'd be able to articulate it better, but I'm afraid this is all I can say about that at the moment.
The Trick is to Keep Breathing by chasarumba, Dexter, Deb character.
As I said to Chasa, she is my new vidding god. After watching her holy triumvitrate of Dexter vids, I'm well and truly hooked. This is is how you handle effects. This is how you utilise light. And this is how you feel the music. Add to that interesting notions about narratorship and POV, and you have a well and truly melted brain. Unbelievably fabulous.

Alanis covers Fergie's "My Humps" on YouTube. As a commentator said, rather astutely, "It's, like, ironic or something!"
