A couple of vid recs.

Sunset Boulevard by butterfly. Angel, Gunn character.
Wow. I just... I have no words for this. I think it just might be fair to say I've never seen a vid match audio to visuals this well. The pace of it, the movement, not to mention the themes and clip selection; it's like the audio just poured out of the speakers and became what you ( Read more... )

I *love* Sunset Boulevard! I left a small comment for Butterfly on her LJ (I am all sucky at feedback at the moment. Feedback's feedback right? *g*)And I also rec'ed it over at Reverie. It's a genius vid!

It's a fantastic vid. Definitely one of the best I've ever seen. I was just sitting there with my jaw hanging open the first time I saw it. I can't believe I didn't know of the vidder until now; been going through her back catalogue like whoa. :D

I know I've said I'd love to read 606 and all, but... take as much time as you need, and don't let anyone put pressure on you - not even me. ;) You could finish it as a birthday gift for me and you know I'd still be happy. :) *huge hugs*

I'd seen Steph's vid before, and it's awesome. I've actually never seen a less-than-great Supernatural vid (twilight_kristavery familiar with the song/singer butterfly used for her Gunn vid, but the vid was new to me. Thanks! Some really extraordinary editing work there. Like you said, it's an awesome job of interpreting the music.

Also, if you'll permit me a Sally Field moment about my new one, you like it! You really like it! Seriously, thanks for the rec.

Urm... Not sure how that happened, but this was how it was supposed to look:

I'd seen Steph's vid before, and it's awesome. I've actually never seen a less-than-great Supernatural vid - twilight_krista has done some terrific work in the fandom as well - but Steph's is one of the very best I've seen. It just has such a great... feel to it. I'm such a wordsmith.

You're welcome for the rec. And yes on both your comments to the other vids, too. I just can't get over Sunset Boulevard. There's just something quite magical about the way it's all been put together.

Good Bones is probably my favourite Atwood book ever. That passage always gives me chills.

My favourite passage is the one directly after it, #7 from Alien Territory. Probably my favourite bit of writing of all time. But Margaret Atwood is just consistently brilliant. I'm reading The Penelopiad at the moment and it's turning out to be one of the better Atwoods I've read.

That's: "Those men. Why do we love them?", right? Me too! Seriously, I must have read over it a hundred times.

Wow, that's so cool! Yeah, that's the passage I mean. It just hits you right there.

I read Margaret Atwood's The Penelopiad a few months ago and absolutely loved it.

Thanks for the recs, as always. :)

I'm just reading it now. I absolutely love the way she writes. It's so... aloof, but tasty.

When I first started reading it I hated the way she wrote, but then I got into and read the whole thing in one sitting.

Was it the first Atwood you have read, then? I really recommend all her other stuff. She's a fantastic writer.
