Yeah, sorry. Ganked this from
redbrunja. She did this ages ago, but I've been seeing this all over DA and felt like doing it.
I love this show enough to do a meme about it!
Avatar: The Last Airbender
This is my favorite character.
Katara. Frakking Katara. In case I haven't made this clear yet, I LOVE Katara. She's so strong, and amazing, and and... She's just awesome, okay?
This is my least favorite character.
I couldn't decide, they're all awesome. So I picked this asshole from "Imprisoned." Haru saved his life, and so he turned him in.
This pairing was meant to be.
Seriously, I always loved them, but EIP set them as my favorite pairing. I love their interactions. Plus, CANON AVATAR SEX!
This pairing just does not work for me
I just never liked them. Ever since "The Fortuneteller" when, as oblivious as I am, I first noticed the possible canon here, I just didn't like them. I remember watching it at my Grandma's house in Eugene, with my sister, and we both looked at each other said practically said "No" to Kataang.
My favorite character doing something awesome.
Going after her mother's killer. Best. Revenge story. Ever.
Another awesome character.
Oh my Gods, Azula is so amazing! I think I'll just come out and say that I'm slightly gay for her, too. Not gay for Katara, though, since I see so much of myself in her. But seriously, with Azula, she can make the Joker shit his pants. Seriously. Not joking. She's also a very tragic character. She's not pure evil, really. I get the feeling that she had been heavily manipulated by Ozai from a young age. Like, really young. Also, JOKERZULA FTW!!!
Something goofy.
I wish that shot also had the dancing Ozai noodle log and singing Pathik. But that's one of the series' greatest moment. Aang, unable to sleep due to stress, starts having freaky daydreams. I once had a week with little sleep due to massive stress, and I was actually starting to expect hallucinations. But then again, the whole world wasn't resting on my shoulders.
Why I love watching this.
The emotional complexities of the characters. This isn't an action show as much as it is a story of characters. Like BSG, I suppose. Like after Katara didn't kill her mother's murderer, when Aang went on about how GREAT it was that she forgave him, she said that she didn't, she couldn't. Ever. Most kids shows would preach that forgiveness is the ONLY way to heal. But it's not, really. The confrontation was what she needed in order to see the others around her in a new light. Namely Zuko.
Also....
Strong female characters. 'Nough said. Well, mostly because I'm tired.
