I just bought two series of Black Books. I'm really excited to watch Dylan Moran in all his adorable glory. So grumpy! I love it.
Over spring break, I was telling my brother about how I once was extremely drunk, stumbled into a 7-11 right before they locked the doors to close for the night and begged a man who looked just like Bill Bailey to sell me cigarettes before shutting down for the night. I ran around the rest of the night yelling "BILL BAILEY SOLD ME CIGARETTES!" The following conversation took place between us.
Chris: That's a great story.
Me: You have no idea who Bill Bailey is, do you?
Chris: No.
Me: He was the twin door seargants in Hot Fuzz. He was on Black Books, but you don't know what that is.
Chris: [pretending to be annoyed] I know what Black Books is, I'm not ignorant to your British shit. A drunk owns a bookstore, right?
Me: [incredibly suprised] Yeah, you're right.
Chris: You forget [his roommate sophomore year] was obsessed with British shit.
[I pause, thinking about whether or not I would now get along with the kid I previously thought was a lone weirdo]
Chris: A man eats chili out of a shoe.
Me: ...What.
Chris: Some guy. He eats chilli out of a shoe. On Black Books.
Me: You mean Bill Bailey?
Chris: Dunno. He had a shoe full of chili. That's all I remember.
Me: I'm leaving now.

Folks, if you've seen Black Books and know whether or not this takes place, please don't tell me. I need to believe it's true.
I love my brother.
p.s.
my computer is working mostly properly, so there'll be a more substantial update when I've got time. For now, I must crochet and watch Black Books before I get really tired and fall asleep.
