I was cleaning out a bunch of crap in my basement today. I found a whole stack of sticker books and old school projects from elementary school, when I had a severely warped vaudvillesque sense of humor. We wrote a lot of poems in school, then typed them on the computer in really stupid, hard-to-read fonts. One I did like was an acrostic that spelled out "Life Is Unfair" and used words like "Racism" "Sadness" and "Injustice". At first, I just giggled at the unwitting TMBG reference, but then I realized it wasn't too bad for a third grader. Most of my poems had people answering unasked questions, defending themselves agaisnt a cyncial unseen narrator, or being ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous. I was such a strange little kid :/
I noticed that in most, if not all, of my stories, the lead male hooked up with the lead female at the end. I was all about the 'happily ever after' stuffs. Even at a very young age, I was obsessed with loving and being loved.
I also found this thing from second grade where you had to describe three wishes you wanted granted, and one of mine was: "I wish Welcome Back, Kotter! would be on TV everyday." It's still not been granted, I'll have you know. I friggin' loved that show.
I'm actually almost finished the Fountainhead. About 100 pages to go, I think. Which isn't much if you've read the book. I'm gonna read Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? after that. Jane Eyre's getting skipped over for now. I'll do as much of the Euro as I can bring myself to do until school starts.
Sam, the new girl from work, called today to give me my new schedule for school. I'll be working Friday night 3-9, and Saturday morning 10-4. It's nice because no one else works from friday night to saturday morning, so I don't get any confusing notes left for me. I really like Sam, though. She watches Rescue Me and knows TMBG and knows how to crochet. She told me she was gonna make me a scarf for Christmas the second night we worked together. It was the way she said it though, in this like, assumed manner, that was really cool. Like, "The scarf I'm going to knit you will be blue. Don't buy any new scarfs, 'cause you're getting one for Christmas." She volunteers for a lot of things, and doesn't worry about having to handle unruly customers. She's really friendly and outgoing. She also knows a couple kids I worked with two summers ago, so we gossip about them sometimes :P But she really loves the theatre, so I think she'll be around for awhile. I was contemplating not staying at my job much longer, but I really like Sam, so I think I'll stick around as long as she's here, and as long as things don't head any further south.
I really like watching Higglytown Heroes in the morning. It's a simple kind of joy. It's gonna suck once summer starts and I won't be able to watch it. Rescue Me's season ends in two episodes, so I won't have that either. I'll still have Bill Mahr, though.
And now...time for a meme.

Oh yeah,a few nights ago, I went to Doylestown with my friends, and we went to a little record store, where my friend found the Pink album on vinyl. I was so pumped. It was only 11 bucks, which isn't too bad. I haven't listened to it yet, but I plan on playing it at least once. I love that album :)
