I went to the mall today with the Britt and I bought some t-shirts. It was nice, everything fit well, and I left with that happy thin feeling when you buy clothes that fit. I don't know if guys get this when they buy clothes. I'm gonna go with probably not. But who knows ( Read more... )

First day of school, eh? Way to facilitate education rather than judgment of value by meaningless numbers that correspond to facts spit back on paper.

Robert Browning is possibly the greatest thing ever...when it come to poetry. I should know. I hate poetry. But he's amazing. and that's a good poem, oooh man. yessssssss.

I've got nothing relavant to say, but I'm glad you're back! And also, I once felt your summer reading pain. Now I miss it. I wish I had enough time to read. The Fountainhead is on every summer reading ist, ever. But Anthem was my favorite.

Ok, I'm done.

I was supposed to read The Fountainhead in my junior year of high school, but I never actually did. I get the feeling I wouldn't like it much, since Rand's philosophy strikes me as totally ignoring the fact that humans have survived so long because we are Social Animals. Selfishness can only go so far.

Yeah, this book is pretty much all centered around selfishness, and strange, strange principals. The only thing I really dislike about it is that it's ridiculously long! It seems like she keeps saying the same things over and over again. Lots of scenes are simply for characterization and aren't really necessary. I wouldn't mind it being so long if the plot moved a bit faster, but I hate the fact that it's almost pointless sometimes.

Well, yeah. It's about her ideology of "Screw you, I got mine." Why should she care if you have to wade through a doorstop's worth of paper? :) She already got paid; who cares if you actually read it? :)
