Crappy fantasy football RB dilemma

Sep 26, 2008 15:58

Okay, so for those who don't know, my fantasy football season started with instant tragedy. Yes, I had Tom Brady. Still I've managed to go 2-1.

Part of my success has been due to Michael Turner (although despite his week one awesomeness I still lost due to Tom Brady getting himself injured after only earning a measly 3 points). However, my second RB position has been a problem. In the draft I got Ryan Grant (GB), but he has not done much of anything this season. Last week I picked up Michael Pittman (DEN). As predicted, he didn't earn much yardage, but he did get a touchdown. That was enough to help me win last week by 7 points. This week I picked up both Correll Buckhalter (PHI) and Rashard Mendenhall (PIT) in pure ambulance chaser fashion after the injuries to Michael Westbrook and Willie Parker.

Out of my now, 4 second tier RB choices, Buckhalter has the most potential for points, but ONLY if Westbrook is out, which is likely to be a last minute decision. If I keep him in and they don't announce until late on Sunday that Westbrook is playing, I've already lost the opportunity to play either Grant or Pittman since they play early. As long as I can make the switch before kickoff, I could still throw in Mendenhall. Unfortunately, although I think Mendenhall has the potential to develop into a really strong RB, I'm not sure how much he'll be able to do having his first NFL start during MNF agains the Ravens defense.

Argh.

Anyone out there have any thoughts on who I should start this week: Buckhalter, Pittman, Mendenhall, or Grant?
