Hate to be a stupid narrow-minded judgemental chav.

Just warning you now, this is going to be a rant.

Munda and I were at Pac Fair this evening and we were ordering coffee at Zarraffra's. And a group of about ten guys started to call us emo. I was wearing a bright blue Parkway Drive shirt, and Munda was wearing a Grates shirt.

Now, Parkway Drive...well, let's face it. They're hardcore. There is no other way to describe them. Not in the slightest bit emo whatsoever.

And the Grates. They are indie. Again, no other way to describe them.

I just think that it's utterly ironic that I have SEEN these people at Parkway Drive shows, they have Parkway Drive listed as one of their favourite bands on their MySpace, but they can't even recognise a Parkway Drive lyric and call people with PARKWAY DRIVE and GRATES SHIRTS emo.

I have to say with nearly all of them decked out in black tight-legged jeans and black hoodies made them look considerably more emo than Munda and I.

There was one guy that used to go to Elanora High that I recognised in the group and I distincly remember him being right into G-Unit. Like, baggy pants and backwards caps and all that shiz. And now he's hardcore...?

And now whenever I'm at any hardcore show, I see him in the pits two-stepping and kicking people in the face.

I really am angry. Why are nearly all of the hardcore people so narrow-minded and nasty? I don't mind a bit of core, and I'm not writing people off in shopping centers. What the fuck would I have to gain from it?

I just take solice in the fact that I am actually doing something constructive with my life, and not running around shopping centers on Thursday nights picking on people. While I'm at uni studying and learning, meeting new people and actually having a LIFE, you're probably stuck in your dead-end job at Red Rooster and probably will be for the rest of your life.
