In Hermetic Kabala, the elements of evil in the universe are represented by the qlipoth, or perverted Sepiroth, areas outside of god. These were grouped together by Macgregor Mathers into Seven Palaces, surrounded by the emanation of Samael (satan) who acted as an eleventh sphere. These spheres also have their own demonic creatures far unlike most other demonologies.

The first palace holds:

Kether , and the Kerthiel (those cut off from god) - Black, evil giants

Chokmah, and the Zogiel (liars) - Black Giants with serpents wound around them

Binah, and the Harasiel (Concealers) - Black-veiled heads with horns and hideous eyes, followed by evil centaurs.

The second holds Chesed, and the Gagh Shekelah (the disturbing ones) - black, cat-headed giants

The third holds Gebruah, and the Golahab (burners with fire) - black heads spouting fire like volcanoes

The fourth holds Tpihareth, and the Zamiel, who are black giants striving against one another

The fifth holds Netzach and the Ghoreb Zereq, who are demon-headed ravens.

The sixth holds Hod, and the Samael (deceivers) who are demon-headed dogs

The seventh holds Yesod and Malkuth:

Yesod - Gamaliel, who appear as bull-men conjoined

Malkuth - Lilith, at first a beautiful woman but underneath a black, apelike demon

Each also has a “patron” demon:

1. Kether - Satan and Moloch

2. Binah - Beelzebub

3. Chokmah - Lucifuge

4. Chesed - Ashtaroth

5. Geburah - Asmodeus

6. Tiphareth - Belphagor

7. Netzach - Baal

8. Hod - Adramalech

9. Yesod - Lilith

10. Malkuth - Nahemah
