She’s So

Jean knows things. Too much, Emma would say, if anyone asked her. Jean isn't her business, really. She's to see to the other students, some of the less gifted ones. Some of the less... volatile ones. Charles would never say so, but he doesn't trust her around Jean, around his pet.
Emma sees the fire flash in Jean's eyes.
She doesn't trust herself, either.

Emma doesn't know how to think of Jean, other than as 'the girl'. She doesn't think it's safe to consider her otherwise. Even with those soft hands and smooth hair. Jean has the eyes of two dying stars.
Emma doesn't know how to look away.
