HOW MANY KITTENS HAVE * Y O U * KILLED TODAY?
I have been pondering something lately...
Freud theorized that things seen in a dream represent things repressed. They are symbolic due to the censorship of the super-ego (our conscience). Dreams and repression occurs on the unconscious level, that is, we do not realize that it occurs.
A lot of people dream without realizing it. People state that they never dream. This is fallacious because we all go through the same stages several times every night (including REM, which is the stage were the majority of dreaming occurs)
What I have been "theorizing" about is that when a dream is not remembered, whatever is repressed remains in the unconscious level.
But whenever I remember the details of my dreams I frequently get deja vu. I can tell what some of the dream is telling me, just not what it is about exactly. I am wondering if, when a dream is remembered, if whatever is repressed then gets moved into your preconscious (where it can be accessed)
Whenever a dream is interpreted it gets brought into the conscious level, in that, you know what it means.
It is just a thought. Seems to make sense, to me at least.
