Haven't seen the episode yet, so I didn't read your above comments but I HAVE to know - were you correct about the song choice? *dying to know*

I'm so incredibly glad that they addressed it so openly, but honestly? I feel a little cheated. It was almost like they were both so blase about the whole thing. Like Booth didn't just get his heart stomped on. I can play devil's advocate and say that they had to emotionally distance themselves from the whole thing in order to continue to work together, and that was why the emotional impact wasn't there. But I also think that ED and DB are good enough actors that a lingering look to thinly mask hurt or longing could have been incorporated without changing the tone of the episode. I dunno, it just felt like there should have been something more there, in light of what happened.

Now that I'm done being a downer, lol, I did love how the Wendell/Angela/Hodgins thing was handled. Both men came out looking like the greatest catches in the universe, and Angela was sympathetic. And Show playing up Robert Englund's Kreugerness was LOL-tastic.

Show was a mockery of itself with Robert Englund. It was hilarious. I suspect some will scream, "OMG, that was so dumb," but Show is making fun of them.

I interpreted the blase reactions as overcompensating. There is definitely severe emotional impact. But Booth is the guy who is always smiling, and Brennan is the woman who compartmentalizes. I kept looking for more, too, but I think it's going to be a slow build up. Every week, they're each less okay about it until they just...crumble. I'm holding out for the crumbling.

ICON = WIN.

This, I can totally buy. There must be crumbling. I'm still holding out hope that this is the perfect setup to Brennan realizing that she can't deal with Booth moving on. That just has to be where this is headed. Yet, because I am a spoiler-whore and read the finale sides, I am unable to fic about it :(

Glad you like the icon :)

This just in from Ausiello:

Question: Do you have any new Bones finale scoop? -Katie
Ausiello: Exec producer Stephen Nathan describes the episode as “the next logical emotional step after what happened in the 100th.” Adds series creator Hart Hanson: “And it’s really, really good.”

That, to me, is either that she tells him she's in love with him, or they decide they can't work together. I realize those are two wildly different possibilities. They're just the only 2 I can currently see.

And those finale sides? I was able to discern nothing but the broadstrokes. They've got me puzzled. I thought about giving up spoilers for the rest of the season...but yeah, right. We both know I'd crumble (this is a good word).

oh, it hurts so good.

Oh, yes it does!

I am so very glad that Show has gone there and appears to be staying there. BRING. IT. ON. SHOW.

Hallelujah, amen, pass the ammunition.

Show is to Southerners as Going There is to Crazy Family Members. Us Southerners always put our crazy people on display. Like, in your face.

(I miss Designing Women.)

Did you notice a certain wardrobe accessory is missing this week? Was this intentional because of his "undercover" persona or is he just not up to wearing it?

obrien_blue April 15 2010, 03:46:26 UTC
I think it was because he was undercover, but I really, REALLY like your idea. The only time we really ever saw him "out of character" was when they showed up at the scene...does he wear Cocky with jeans? I don't know if I've seen him do that. I will have to investigate (oh, how hard life is).

I don't remember seeing the belt buckle with jeans. But they both had wedding rings while undercover.

I saw his, but I thought her ring was just the one she always wears, which I think would be fine. At any rate, the biggest disappointment to me was that he was "Bobby Kent" instead of "Seeley." I REALLY wanted an episode of her calling him Seeley.
