Best Side Ever
A new side was released for 5x08, and I'm telling you, I couldn't be more stoked. Spoilers behind the cut.
So, if you've been keeping up with the sides (something I promised myself I wouldn't do...but did anyway), then you know that 5x08, The Foot in the Foreclosure, features Booth's grandfather, Hank.
(On a completely unrelated note, in my mind, Booth's grandfather has always been named Ransom. I think it's because I knew an older man whose name was Ransom, and I just always thought that was a badass name.)

Come on.
Can Hank visit every week? Because he's just AWESOME. That last scene, where he talks separately to Booth and Brennan, is fantastic. He's cutting through all of the bullshit, because that's what old people get to do. I can't WAIT for this. And Booth's, "That thing you're wearing looks nice" is fabulous. If the courting is going to be that awkward, I think we're in for a season of hilarity. Because, as we know, Booth is charming, but he knows he can't just use old tricks with Brennan. Going after her will take him entirely out of his comfort zone, because while he knows her, as well as anyone can know her, he's probably never pursued someone quite like her, and certainly not with the stakes so high. I just love uncomfortable!Booth. It's vulnerable and adorable.
Of course, all he needs to do it just tell her how he feels, everyday if that's what it takes, but is love, real or imagined, ever that easy? Hell no. That's what I love about this show. You like someone, you might love them, but God forbid you tell them. You want them to tell you first. Because you think they might feel the same way. No, you don't just think it; sometimes you know it, because of the way they look at you, and it's those moments when the words almost fall off your tongue, but then your brain kicks in and you stop. Oh, these kids. These crazy, crazy kids. I love them.
