Work was a little crazy today, but not as crazy as yesterday. Today they eventually formed a schedule for me to have things to do for the rest of the week. I will be observing a different department each morning and another one in the afternoon. Today I observed the "Mac Department", which was basically (enter GC terminology) preflighting. Tommorow I get to hang out with the color guys, who seem to be pretty cool and do some really interesting stuff, and then in the afternoon I will be in the assembly department.

Its not looking too much like I will get to do the job that was originally described to me, the one that I am being paid (and paid very well) to do. I was supposed to learn their old software, written in 1983, called AS400, which basically is a job description and tracking program. After I learned all about how it worked, I was supposed to go to Louisville with the 10 other Clemson GC people to learn the new program for two weeks, and then return to teach everyone at my plant how to use it. However, it appears that the software, Virtual Ticket, just isnt ready, so everyone seems to be really frustrated. I think once they get the program working, it'll be a huge help in speeding up productivity and effeciency, it just seems that the transition to it wont be anywhere near as smooth as they originally hoped. It sure is interesting going through the company as theyre going through this transition, though.

I told myself at the beginning of the summer that once here, I would teach myself how to cook a wider variety of foods, and I would work out every day. Its working so far, but we shall see how far it goes. Today I made terriyaki beef and fried rice, and it was tasty.
