hey dudes the life of comedian rocknrollr owen straw continues even though i never post about it.
just got home from a show in tacoma. it was going pretty well for the first 30-40 minutes then i tried an ill-formed new idea that didn't go anywhere and i lost em. the rest of my set seemed like a battle to get their attention back.
it didn't help that some local tacoma girl who is on the new season of oxygen's "bad girls club" was having a viewing party after the show. all those people were showing up at the end of my set and everyone got distracted. i still battled through. the host and the booker both gave me some good compliments afterward and i learned a few things.
basically i learned to save my best 5-10 minute chunk for the end.(something i already knew but i obviously needed the reminder tonight) it's important to open strong but it's even more important to close strong. don't want no hedberg style pancakes.
