A Man to be Remembered

I still am not over this Ryutaro fandom, and I’ll probably never be. But for the sake of talking about something else, I’m going to focus on hide- the legendary man in the Jrock world. I am not really that accustomed to the historical details of his popularity and his music. What I know is that he’s the ex-guitarist of the renowned X Japan which I believed is one of the originators of Jrock. For unfortunate reasons (disagreement between members), they disbanded and he then went solo, which turned quite fine. He’s very well known to be one of the greatest guitarists in the Jrock set; and of course, like Tarou-san, he’s well known for his odd but cool voice.

May 2 1998 - the date which hide’s fans shall never forget. He was found unconscious inside his bathroom, with a towel hanging around his neck to the doorknob. It’s hypothetically announced as suicide, though basing from his qualities and undeniable success, it’s the very least cause. And it would be such a shame if he just died of an accident.

Up to this day, many of his fans and as well as Jrock enthusiasts mourn for this tragic event. Though hide may not exist earthly, he shall still remain alive in the music he created and left for us. The best possible way we can do for him is to move on, knowing that hide is warmly received in heaven.

In memory of Hideto Matsumoto
