End of the year
Well its been an very long while since i've updated my journal even though i still get on occaisionally to check up on people. This past semester has been a roller coaster ride for me because i was originally intending it to be an easy semester in terms of workload. but i was proven wrong and the overarching theme of the year was having to deal with major events at the last possible second and having to deal with the stress associated with it.
First was oboe day in which we had to plan an entire day of masterclasses, vendors, and activities, and sending out mailings to the entire east coast at least it felt like it. i will never lick envelopes again. with that out of the way i figured i could just focus on myself but again i was proven wrong. my teacher informed me she had set up a masterclass with a very famous oboe player and we all had to prepare very hard excerpts from the repertoire. stressed out and finally got through that. then she told us we were auditioning for the honors recital which was supposed to get me out of playing a Jury. we make the honors recital but then i find out a week before juries that i will have to prepare music in order to be accepted as a performance major. i somehow manage to pull off the preparation without the help from my teacher and get accepted as a performance major. so i made it through the stress minefield but it has taken a toll on my studies because of a recent incident i am not really talking to my teacher at the moment(most of it is because it is summer anyway)but i have no desire to talk to her at the moment as i have had to do most of the stuff she through at my studio and I by myself even though part of her duties is to guide us through some of the stuff.
thats all behind me now and i have a week long trip to London to look forward to with some of my studio members. I'm leaving the 21 and coming back the 29 and it will be my first time out of the country so i'll try to bring back goodies if i come accross them and loretta i'll have to ask dominic monaghan if he wants to come back because he probably has body guards so it might just be that london shirt you wanted. I hope everyone has had a successful year with lots of good people and fun. Let the summer begin!
