[crash, flump, bang - the sounds of someone falling out of bed and onto the floor. There's some scrabbling, breathing and clicks as someone fiddles with the keys, and then clarity. The first few words are mumbled, growing increasingly louder until the voice achieves some kind of normal tone.]

Well, it's pretty much like any other city. Except every so often, when the deities send curses. And, uh, curses make people behave in weird ways. Oh! And you can't get out of the City, either. That's basically it.
