lThe snow's not stopping. And my hands are getting cold. Probably wouldn't have been a bad idea to get something besides a bed for the place. I'm not going to the library again, and I'm running out of things to do.

From what I've seen, some curses are special and last more than one day.

What's the longest you've seen one last?

Two or three days.

Just one more day of sitting around staring at walls, then. That's encouraging.

You could always... try video games, I guess.

People keep talking about those on the network. How can you play a game inside? Unless it's something like chess.

Do you know what a TV is?

I've seen them around. It's usually running some story with a lot of kissing. ... What does a video game have to do with that?

Basically you connect the game to the TV so you can play it. It's sort of like... an interactive story book. With pictures.

That's... weird. What kinds of stories are there around here?

It depends. Most of them are kind of stupid and just involve beating up random monsters or whatever.

You get into it after awhile, though...

Random monsters? That sounds more like the Underground than a story.

You like them?

The monsters are only part of the story, and unlike the Underground, it's not real.

They're okay. Just another way to pass the time here, which works for me.

Passing the time... You make it sound like you're waiting for something.

Of course I'm waiting. I'm sure as hell not sticking around here forever. I'm going back to my world someday, I don't care how.
