[He's not the only Nobody in the Hall of the Missing. After Larxene and Marluxia's departures, Xemnas has taken it upon himself to come for a visit. Who knows who else he may have missed after all.]

Do you miss him?

[Riku. Xigbar. Luxord. Roxas is actually standing at the last's portrait right now, frowning up. At the voice, he spins around - then scowls, not quite looking at Xemnas.

Well. How do you answer that?]

Why do you want to know?

[Xemnas is - for the time - just sort of watching Roxas. He's curious, but certainly unaware of the curse not that it would matter with Roxas not quite looking at him.]

You are the only one of us with a living Other.

That doesn't make me an experiment.

I had not intended to.

[ Well, at least that assurance's out of the way. He looks sharply at Xemnas anyway - directly, this time. ]

[Given Xemnas is still watching Roxas, their eyes meet, if only briefly. And brief though it is, there's a flash of something... more in that glance.

There's darkness there, true enough; deep and dark and cold. But there's something even colder there as well. Something that might well feel wrong, if Roxas weren't a Nobody himself. No matter what Xemnas seems, he's as cold and dead inside as his one element.

And then the brief moment is over and it's just Xemnas sitting there, calm as ever.]

[ Roxas himself is light, just dim enough to look at, inconstant, flickering but holding nonetheless if only out of sharp determination not to go out. There's the sharpest hint of warmth, but it's not wholly human either.

As for Roxas himself, his shoulders tense. Sora's absence already has him on edge, and Xemnas wouldn't be Xemnas if he didn't make Roxas wary. He takes one step back, another, and his hands are curved up slightly at his sides, fingers clenching. ]

What was that?

[Xemnas shakes his head at the question. He has no more idea than Roxas, but whatever that was he saw in Roxas will be remembered for further use. Of course, he can't keep quiet even on a good day, so he'll speak up.]

I do not know. But knowing the City, I can make a guess.

[ So it's not Xemnas's fault. ]

You think it's some kind of curse?

That is what I would assume.

And... it only happens when we look at each other.

[ He's... watching Xemnas's feet. But he's watching very intently! ]

What was that, though...

I do not have the answers to that. One point of data is not enough.

I guess that's true.

But if the effect is generated at eye-contact, it should not be over-hard to find further points.

[ There is a slight pause at this. ]

You mean, trying on other people?

[ 'Other people' being the keypoint. ]
