That the clock counts down to the end of the world. All worlds. That's why you can't touch it, or the carousel, since they're connected. People's emotions are what feed it. That's why they curse us...or so they say. It could be simple amusement.

Some people have said that this is the only world that won't be destroyed. But nobody knows for sure.
