Mery had been stalking the rabbit for twenty minutes now, following it in a slow, creeping progression so she wouldn't startle the little thing. She guessed it was a recent mother, from the looks of its underside, and Mery wanted to see if there were baby bunnies hopping about somewhere.
She was concentrating so hard that when it dawned on her that person leaning on the tree was someone she knew, it startled her she without thinking she exclaimed "Roger!" with an animated wave. The rabbit jumped and took off in a streak of brown and gray fur. Mery saw it flee, blinked and then pouted at herself. No baby bunnies for her today.
