When you say Third Eye Blind is an influence on your band, does that mean that mediocre trite pop crap is also an influence?

i checked out your journal, just to see what you were all about...

to my surprise, you listen to a lot of the same music i do. so it's not that you have bad taste, you're just an asshole.

you're the kind of kid who ruins indie rock, because you're an elisist tool whose musical taste is totally congruent with whatever chuck klosterman and spin magazine tells you is cool this month.

my point is not that third eye blind is good.

that's not an argument worth having. i can find something wrong with every single band that has ever existed. nobody's perfect, and everything is subjective.

my point is that you're an asshole. why would you just randomly come on my band's journal and tell us that third eye blind is a shitty pop band?

oh, and for the record... if you haven't heard the album then don't criticize it. it makes you sound like an idiot. take a listen, tell me it sucks, and then we'll be getting somewhere.

Wow. You go after me for making judgements about Third Eye Blind, but then go out of your way to call me an asshole, an idiot, and an elitist tool. Funny, but I would think for someone who is against prejudgements that you would be so quick to do the same to me. But I guess it's different because I made fun of one of your favorite bands, huh ( ... )

But in listening to those Third Eye Blind discs, it sounds like they're trying really hard to make music that everyone can enjoy while keeping an edgy "rock" tag. And that's just revolting.Yeah, why would a rock band want to make music that people enjoy ( ... )

i'm a big fan of syncopation and intricate rhythmic structures. i also like their vocalist's sense of melody. with the exception of a few of their singles, most of the vocal phrasing is pretty unique. and the new album (out of the vein) has a really cool airy quality to it.

i can see where they'd be brushed off as a shitty pop band, because i definitely recognize that component in their music. and i agree that money is probably a factor when it comes time to make an album.

but i think if you listen to songs like "good man" or "motorcycle driveby" there's something very genuine there.

u don't know what u are talking about. if u knew anything about music u would know that teb is one of the best rock bands around today.

Am I going to get into this again? Third Eye Blind was a lot better the first time when they were The Replacements.
