[Zelda's in her room today. She's had a few days to think about everything, to reflect, to be fond of past memories, to look forward to future ones.]
...Where to begin?
I suppose... the origin is a good place...
For her, I must do all that I can.
Esteemed Man of Great Confidence
Captain James Wolfgang Redd,
It is with my hopes and every breath within me that you will receive this in good form. It is often difficult to determine what your status may be and perhaps that may be in the idea that we hear very little of you, and see you even less. This missive is meant to serve as two purposes.
The first is my official and formal gratitude extended in your direction. I do not know what your original intent may have been, however, by giving those aboard something to take care of, it seems many of them appreciated the idea that they were needed. So many people seem to forget what it is like to have love, tenderness, compassion, and affection. The environment of the ship turns them into cold people with distant hearts. It is very important that all people feel as though they are useful, practical, worthy, and necessary. A child speaks to the heart. A child plucks the strings of the metaphorical harp and so easily are we influenced by their delicate hands. In their very palms they hold the future of the worlds. Such small characters so capable of swaying the hearts of the masses.
However...
While children are all well and good, I must confess that in having them drawn from their caretakers, whether they were sentient beings or not, has resulted in many people who are upset. There are some, of course, who are relieved, and some who were not affected in the least.
My... next words I pray you will not take... or interpret in an ill form. I have a request for you. I rarely ask for much, and I perhaps, may be one of the most understanding people aboard, so I pray you will give it some consideration. There is a young woman aboard, of whom I affectionately call Hazar. I believe she is the 'daughter' to your darling First Mate Kage. She is... terribly tormented by the lack of the child you placed in her care. It... it may not be proper to ask that you return it to her, although to some extent that is what I am asking for. I am incapable of helping her with my own hands, and it is... It wrecks my heart to see her in this pain. I wish to help her and my words--which normally could be used to do such a thing--do not have the ability to do such at this point.
Please do something to help her. I have faith in you and your leadership. With even your abilities aside, I feel you are a wondrous man and that there is something wise that lies below your stature. I ask of you, listen to me. Hear my words once more, and lend to Hazar your guidance. Bestow something upon her that will heal the ache in her heart. Fill that empty void with something that will bring her happiness. Allow her something to bestow her love upon, something that will remind her that she is needed and that she is far from pointless. I am willing to even go so far as to offer something of mine in return. I am well aware that for many things, there is a price to be paid, and I am not against giving something up if it means that she will not be so wounded by the unfair torments of the world.
Thank you, as always, for your treatment of me, for your consideration, and for the words you may place upon me. I can only wish for the best.
With Fondest Wishes,
Zelda
Princess of Hyrule
...I... also offer many apologies to...
[Zelda can't seem to believe she's actually going to do this.]
...To Sir Praxis.
I... It was never my intention to offend you. I spoke without thought. I spoke without consideration. You have my sincerest apologies. I... wish to rectify the situation, to better myself, to learn from my discrepancies, and to prevent such a thing from happening again. Surely, there is something I can do to compensate for my shortcomings.
[There's a pause. It seems she's looking toward the door. Didn't she have some vague plans? Yes. Of course she does.]
...Uhm...
You... Sir. You know who you are.
May we go see deck 17 today?
Oh!
...Sir Reiner...?
Thank you for letting me have the frog. What... do you think it is for? Is there anyone aboard who has an idea, perhaps?
