[Zelda doesn't really have anything to say. She does not mind playing her ocarina for the ship, however. Just a reminder that the princess still continues to live.]
[Nabooru isn't really offended, she knows the Princess has her own business to deal with. And from what she's heard, perhaps plenty of reasons to want to stay in the background.]
It's fine, Zelda. It's good to know what I've been told is true, though.
[It's not a question, but it might as well be. Zelda wonders what Nabooru has been told of her and how much of it is actually true.]
It has been some time. Some days it does feel an eternity, however, I believe the correct approximation would be nearly eight months. I reiterate, it has been some time.
Eight months. Goddesses. What do you remember last from Hyrule? It seems the Captain's taken some people from different times in their own worlds.
[Nabooru doesn't mention what she's heard. It's nothing really - just that Link used to be here. Nabooru knows well enough how hard it must have been for her for him to end up disappearing.]
That would be correct. I came here in the midst of Hyrule's reconstructive efforts. Would you mind terribly if I were to inquire the same of you, Nabooru?
[It would be nice if she knew someone who could give her an update on Hyrule's condition, but Zelda expects otherwise and braces herself for disappointment.]
About the same, I think. Three seasons since we sealed Ganondorf away. So, considering you've been here about eight months... well, I guess that lines up pretty closely.
No, Princess. I'm sorry it's you that's here. Things were not good back in the Valley. I was sending messengers to request your assistance when I was brought here. [Sigh.]
Most Gerudo were very loyal to Ganondorf. His rule was terrible, but from my people's perspective, he gave us a comfortable lifestyle by doing what he did.
I'm... just one person. It's hard keeping everything under control.
I fail to grasp as to why precisely my presence would have helped any. I know very little about the Gerudo as a collective, much less as individuals. Our two cultures are very, very different. I have never disliked the Gerudo, in spite of what has passed between our two races, however, I cannot say I would be able to intervene in such hardship without the temptation to alter various parts of your tradition--even knowing that such is not a righteous action to take.
Your faith in my is flattering to be sure, but I still feel I would be incapable of entirely solving your issue with your people. You are a more than capable leader, I am certain. Perhaps you need a bit of faith in yourself as well.
[By rejoining under Hylian rule, weren't the Gerudo supposed to be able to rely on the Royal Family to help them when they needed help? Zelda could very well be right, but ...jeez. Harsh. Nabooru's taken aback by how dry and unfeeling Zelda seems to have become.]
[Well... That wasn't quite what she meant. There's a word for what she means to say that can explain it so much better, but she just can't think of it in the time being.]
I am always willing to lend a helping hand. There are simply some things that even my eyes look at and I wonder how possible it is for me to help without running the risk of endangering cultural traditions for a culture that is not mine.
[Does that better explain it? She doesn't even know.]
Zelda?

That is an accurate assessment to make. I apologize for not having greeted you prior to now, Nabooru.

How long... have you been here?

I see. I am sorry then, that you are here.

And what of the valley's status? What could befall it so that you would ask for me?
