34 - PAfH; [Voice // Common]

[She is less than confident, but Zelda tries to hide it in her voice. Eerie silence behind her, which means she's probably in her room.]

...
Ganondorf.

[Well, that was a mouthful.]

You wished to discuss something with me.
Do elaborate.

[That's almost putting her head in the lion's mouth.]

something foul is afoot, this isn't diplomacy; it's ambition, !ganondorf, i'm just a pawn to you, !her majesty zelda, !the hero of time

Zelda, how good to hear from you. We have not spoken in some time. How have you been?

[He's deliberately dodging. Let's see how long he can drag this out.]

[How casual! How... completely irritating. She feels less and less like talking to much of anyone, and especially not him.]

My status is sufficient. I trust you are well.

I am well enough. Though I must admit some recent events have left me wishing to return home.

[Well that's a lie. He was ready to go before he got here.]

...Yes. Of course. A natural response from anyone aboard.

[She's not buying it, but sure, keep going.]

Idle chatter aside, there is something that I do wish to discuss with you. The Gerudo. What do you know of them?

[That's a surprising inquiry.]

The Gerudo? You are the leader of the Gerudo, Ganondorf. Have you forgotten this?

I have not. But it would seem that they were exterminated during my unfortunate absence. I've yet to learn the whole story. You understand my curiosity, do you not?

I...

[Has she ever personally seen a Gerudo aside from him? She supposes she has, although she doesn't remember them well. Sheik would know more about that, she guesses.]

I do not see how I would have that information. The Gerudo were many in my childhood, as well as my proceeding adolescence. You mean to say that the Gerudo of Hyrule's future do not exist?

To my knowledge, I am the only Gerudo that remains. You did not know?

[He doesn't like the sound of this. And he had hoped to get some answers.]

...I do not have any Gerudo all--

Well.

[There's Nabooru. Does that really count, though? Zelda sounds disturbed by this realization. Good job, Ganondorf.]

...I... I do not know what... to say...

[Sorry. Her facade's a little broken right now.]

[There's silence for a moment.]

Say nothing. It's fine.

[That doesn't seem right to her. She's not really okay with just standing by. She does know how she feels, however, and she knows she doesn't want anyone else to experience that--well, sort of. Which means she's going to extend him some of that kindness.]

Will you be well?

[He's surprised, by the clear hesitation in his voice.]

I'm fine, Princess. Though your kindness is noted.

[Zelda's not certain she's convinced. She softens a little.]

If you say so... Everyone is already forced to endure so many things. It would be unfair if a helping hand was not offered at the very least.

And it does not go without appreciation. But honestly, princess. Such things are in the past. And I am certainly unaffected by them now. [Lies]

[Now she knows she isn't persuaded.]

Yes. I suppose the past and what happens in it does not always need to be an obstacle. We are unable to progress as people if we constantly allow it to stop us.
