over the weekend- random
Random:
A) My bike’s derailleur hanger is all bent up. I was having an issue while riding last week where the derailleur would start rubbing my spokes if I went into low gear. Jeric swung by and took a look at it and the derailleur looks bent. I ended up just taking it into REI to have them look at it and order the part. (it’s an REI Novara brand bike) Bike won’t be ready until Friday though. Sad.
2) Daniel’s party on Sunday was cool and slip & sliding was awesome… except I’m all beat up. Knees and feet are all scratched to hell. Fun tho. Must do again.
III. Yesterday I was doing some laundry around noon-ish. I went down to get the finished load and ended up locking myself out of my apartment. I had no keys, wallet, cell phone, etc. Just short, t-shirt, sandals, and a bunch of clean laundry. I spent a few minutes trying to ‘break-in’, except that I suck at breaking into places. I ended up walking over to Borders to grab the keys from Alethea. It was only about 2 miles there and back, but how hot was it? Coincidentally, the raw parts of my feet from the slip and slide were made worse by lots of sandal walking. I was wondering whether it would have been worse if it was pouring rain and I had to walk the same route in t-shirt and sandals.
$) Went to go see ‘No End in Sight’ a few days ago. Really good documentary on the war in Iraq. It goes into the actual mistakes that have been made in managing the war after the initial conflict of removing Sadam from power. It’s actually a fairly objective look at what has happened there. No speculation. Just facts.
