But... I'm not done holidaying yet...

So it sort of sucks a big one that work could start again tomorrow... especially since it feels like I've done nothing with my last day of freedom. But you know, it still doesn't bother me that much. You'd think I'd be missing holidays and such at this point, but I'm really not so much... this, I realize is completely due to the fact that I don't have a full time job and therefore have spent a vast majority of my time at home participating in holiday style activities anyway...

So... I don't know where I was going with that.

More to the point: I've been pretty much glued to my Playstation over the last little while, and NOT due to Final Fantasy as you might think (though it isn't completely without blame). Just a couple of days ago I bought BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, which, for the uneducated among you is a new 2D fighter from the makers of Guilty Gear... for the even FURTHER uneducated among you, it's pretty much the new answer to what Street Fighter used to be, back in the day.

... and for the entirely uninitiated... it's pretty much this:

Also, for those of you who just scoffed at my semi-reference to it being "Street Fighter, but better" you might enjoy this... I know I did, and I'm still getting lols out of the final lines:

So anyway, I'm enjoying that game right now. Other than that, I bought the "Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection" at JB yesterday for $30... Sonic, Shining Force, Phantasy Star, it's good to get back to some old school gaming roots from time to time =). Plus, the addition of trophies makes playing it incredibly addictive XD. Though, most of these particular ones aren't too challenging to unlock.

I bought the new Pokémon game too, well, one of them. Soul Silver. It's SOOOO much better than Diamond and Pearl in terms of bag and menu system and such. Even the buildings. This is the upgrade to the system that the franchise really needed IMO. Sure, they updated the graphics and everything, but they really hadn't rethought in great detail the way they had everything set out since the 90s. I would have thought it an obvious thing to do when the DS was released... but I guess it wasn't... but now everything is right and it all looks so slick! Even the Pokémon Centers, the trade and battle section is no longer in another room up escalators, they brought back stairs and threw it up behind the counter as opposed to in a completely different room. It's only a small thing, but it's definitely noticeable. Even right down to the shoes (and I'm hoping the bike) being a shortcut on the touch screen, freeing up the shortcut button for other items! It really is the little things that count after all these years of carefully honing the game.

Hmm... Well, that was a much longer gaming rant than I intended. Chalk it up to the fact that it's been a while since my last one.

My Mum is screaming for cake/pancakes, so I've gotta go make them (obviously =P). So seeing as I'm done ranting about the greatness of everything, I can call this 'part 1' and work on a part 2 later on... something to do with reality... or something....... umm... it's likely to be much shorter lol =P.

P.S. Still looking for people to comment on my last meme entry. Check it out if you haven't yet. The one I've got is brilliant! Can't wait to write it up lol.
