It was pleasant to see things return to normal, and everyone seemed to have quite a blast at the Café during the Christmas days. It seems as though our celebration specials are a hit.

( Even that hyperactive young man seemed to brighten up the place with his actions. Now that Maya has gone... )As much as everyone has made this holiday, and the ( Read more... )

You're always complaining about not having outfits 'as nice as mine', now do put these to some use, won't you?

I also got you something else. But a gift for me?

Yes, I'm sure these will be great for playing poker in the basement with. Thank you!

It's not much, especially not compared to what you got, but yeah...

Very funny, Wright.

[ SUDDENLY, ACTION. ]

Thank you. Do I get to see it before New Year's?

Can you wait that long? [ smirk ]

You'd be surprised. But I'm certain if you can be this patient for your next gift, I could offer you the same.

[ Smug-- though the smile's not really reaching his eyes. ]

[ smirks right back, okay, it's really more of a warm smile ]

I can wait for you.

[ That surprises him somewhat, and he doesn't notice that hint of color creeping into his face and around the base of his neck, but he does feel mildly awkward. ]

Now, now, Wright. That's unfair. Especially since you made the offer first.

[ grinning, quite pleased with this reaction ]

Well, okay.

Part of it, at least, you might want to have before New Years. So since you gave me half a present... I can give you half of yours.

[ Learned something from Trucy, eh? He blinks in surprise, before a look of approval appears on his face, and for the first time that day, he actually looks relaxed. ]

You've outdone yourself.

[ He's teasing, but it's a thank you all the same. ]

I suppose you can have the next part whenever you deem fit to offer the rest of your gift.

[ Extends his hands to take it, looking it over. ]

Care to join me in opening this one, first?

[ Dinner's over after all, might as well celebrate a little bit. ]

I'll ring in the new year with the next part.

[ grins ]

Don't mind if I do.

[ and because he knows where everything is - time to get the glasses and ice! ]

[ They can enjoy this on the balcony table outside~ which Edgey just conveniently organized, and cleared up. So he opens the doors to bring the bottle there, along with whatever's needed to open it, watching Phoenix as he returns, and settles the bottle on the wrought-iron table. It's a pleasantly cool night. And a good drink to keep them warm~ what could be better? ]

I'm glad neither of us made a habit of doing this too often. It certainly feels a little more festive, I suppose.

[ Opening up the bottle and waiting for Phoenix to hold up his glass so he can pour him a drink, he looks thoughtful as he speaks. ]

This stuff's a bit too strong to make a habit out of.

[ He sits as casually as if the chairs were made of leather, and raises his glass to be filled. ]

Then it's probably a good thing we have this in moderation, hm?

[ And he pours an appropriate amount into Phoenix's glass, until the other tells him to stop, and pours some for himself, half-filling it. ]

It feels like a good enough occasion to be toasting to something.

[ He speaks as he leans against the railing of the balcony. ]
