"A beautiful theme of every dream I ever knew..."

fwee! Today was kinda boring... Made a few deliveries this morning. One was to the department of taxation and BOY was that lady a bitch... She was all like "That doesn't look like the picture i saw when i ordered it!" I was thinkin' ummmm..... sorry? i'm just the delivery boy, lady..."but yeah... she would NOT drop the subject... she even brought up the website and got one of her buddies to come over and look. And she was complaining about how it looks smaller than the picture and the flowers are all open and pretty, and the ones I gave her looked like they were dying... I was like:
"they're not dying, they just haven't opened up all the way. Give them a couple days and it'll look like the picture."
"but I'll be giving them to her now!"
"and she'll have them and be able to watch them bloom fully."
"but they don't look fresh! Look, the tulips are drooping!"
"trust me, they're fresh."
"how do you know?"
"because they just came in yesterday. I was the one who picked them up, I delivered them to the florist, watched her put the arrangment together, and delivered it here... today... less than 24 hours later. I've been with them the whole way."
"Really?"
"Yes. Trust me, I take a lot of pride in what I do" *cue heroic music*
"But what about the tulips?"
"Have you ever seen a bumblebee fly?"
"umm... yes?"
"Well, tulips are like bumblebees. They're big and heavy and really shouldn't even be able to get off the ground, but they do... somehow. And they do droop like that. They do in the picture, even."

I finally told her to just hold on to them and I'd call the florist and see about a replacement... just to shut her up... She ended up calling Sandy herself, anyways... good for her... Now I have to take a new one to her tomorrow... bitch... all well, i'll get over it. After that, I called Sandy to see if she had any pick-ups for me... but she didn't. In fact, she told me not to rush getting back. I could go get lunch or something and call her around 1:30... It was 11... SO, I stopped by Towers and found a Frank Sinatra tape. That was pretty cool little find. It was only 3 bucks, too! Unfortunately, my tape deck still doesn't work... But that's ok, 'cuz i gots the radio! AM 1480, bitches! Best Latino music station in Richmond! ...Actually, I think it's the ONLY one... But that's cool with me.

Anyways, after that I stopped by Waffle House to grab me some eggs and hashbrowns. I'm becoming quite the regular there as of late. That's cool with me! Now I get free coffee, free refills on my OJ, and some friendly conversation. I'm still not too sure on their names, though... I know one of them is Rita, but that's all I can remember. I'll probably figure that out at some point. But yeah... WH hashbrowns are my guilty pleasure nowadays. They're quite tasty. And sometimes they "neglect" to put my add-ins on the bill... which is pretty cool, if you ask me! Free cheese! WHOO! wow... I need a life...

I eventually made it back to work. Had a few deliveries in Charles City, but that was it. Came home. Lauren came over cuz it was her BDay, so mom planned a nice dinner. I made some awesome chicken. I cut up a tangerine and put it inside, drenched the bird with sherry, then topped it with some garlic, poultry seasoning, and rosemary leaves. It came out quite nicely. Lauren made her ultra-awesome mashed taters, too. So, dinner was the bomb. Then, I went for a walk and cmae up with an awesome idea! I can steal other people's points with my pitpass! Especially since there are a lot of out of towners who don't have pit passes! They buy their gas, muffin, and cigarettes, and i swipe my pit pass and get more free stuff! Apparently it's ok as long as they, the rich yuppy mofo customers that is, let me. And they don't seem to care, so.... go me! Stickin' it to The Man!

Well, that's about it, methinks. Plans for the weekend are slowly formulating themselves, so that's cool.

Oh, and if you're ever in the mood, hit me up at the gas station around 11... so I can steal your pit pass points...

Later days, all...

That beautiful rhapsody
Of love and youth and spring,
The music is sweet,
The words are true -
The song is you.
