here's something i haven't done in a while... a picture post. I did it once a long time a go and entitled it "These are a few of my favorite things." Well, i was inspired by one of Stirf's entries and I think i'll do a new one!
As many, MANY, of you know... I like cars and motorcycles. But there's more to it than just that. I mean, why DO I like them? Well, it's simple. I mean, many of you also know I like art, right? If you don't, I'm telling you now. I like art. Paintings, sculptures, sketches, stained glass, etc... I like vehicles for their artistic qualities - aesthetics, if you will. I mean, I like beautiful things. A nice car or bike to me doesn't necessarily have to be ultra-fast or ultra-powerful. I mean, what are designers? Sure, they went to college and and majored in engineering and all that, but they also went into art. They're artists. Their mediums just happen to be steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and carbon fiber. It's sculpture work. Cars and bikes are their masterworks. DaVinci has the Mona Lisa, Machelangelo has David, Vasquez has Johnny, and Carol Shelby has the AC Cobra 427 S/C.
And so, I present to you what is not a crossover. It isn't transportation in art, but art in our transportation.
