Obito's late Birthday post

[February 10th is/was Obito's birthday. So, for the moment he is at home, getting ready to go out and see his BFF for Cake making.]

[So if ANYONE wants to harass the birthday boy, GO FOR IT]

[Sasuke knocks a little furtively on his cousins door. He couldn't drag Itachi to come with him, so he hopes this won't be too awkward.

The little salt and pepper shakers are neatly wrapped in dark blue wrapping paper,topped off with a red ribbon. Oh yeah, Sasuke has some wrapping skillz

[Opens door, smiling] Sasuke! Hey! [grins] how are you?

I-uh, just.. came to give you this.

[Hurriedly offers the present..]
Happy Birthday, Obito.

Want some cake? I have some here, though people might stop by . . . [and in case what Kakashi and I make later is inedible, like usual]

Thanks, Sasuke! [lets him in, and opens the door . . . and opens the present] Hey! These are great! [grins] I like them, thank you. [have a brief hug. Brief enough that any Uchiha could ignore it should they wish. Family thing, can't actually know that we care about each other, can we?]

Yeah, sure. [ Okay, even cold-hearted Sasuke cannot resist Obito's cake. He's gotta be the best cook... ever, really <3 Bar Sasuke, of course.]

I'm gla- [He's cut off mid sentence by the hug - and stays stiff as a broom. But its Obito's birthday, somaybe he smirks a little. Its not that bad, he supposes.]

[smile] Great.

[ruffles Sasuke's hair, and grins, heading to the kitchen] It's chocolate, this year. I've got strawberry ice cream too, if you want it?

[Sasuke doesn't complain, though is a few seconds behind his cousin as he hastily fluffs everything back into place - not that it takes much effort. He smirks a little.]

Sounds like a plan, Obito.

Did youg get any other presents?

[cuts him some cake and scoops out some ice cream, handing it to Sasuke]

Got some spices from Neji . . . well wishes from my brother . . . not a lot of presents this year. But I'm okay with that.

.................. how's Naruto?

[Sasuke tucks in happily enough, and nods with each name. He's glad he can atleast offer his cousin some company, too.

Then he mentions Naruto.

Sasuke feels as though he is about to cough up the spoon, but bites down quickly on the icecream and chocolate cake, attempting a nonchalant shrug. He pulls out the spoon as he mulls over the question, eyeing Obito suspiciously.]

Normal, I suppose. Why?

[Is actually rather happy that Sasuke came over. It's nice to know that he cousin cares.]

Eh, he just mentioned . . . some things to me. If you want to talk about you and him, you can always talk to me. And before you go off to murder him, I made him tell me. He was acting really weird in class and it was driving me nuts. So I forced it out of him.

[He eats more choclate as a distraction. Stupid Naruto and his stupid big mouth. ;_; Nevermind that Sasuke was barely coming to terms with it, and now HALF OF THE SCHOOL KNEW. Okay, so maybe only his cousin and Aniki and Konan, and.. and possibly Neji. But. But that was it, right?

He needed more strawberry icecream, and looks decidedly sullen.]

What did he say? [His face is blank as he says it, but he is genuinely curious. What if Naruto was complaining about him? ;__; He'd beat that dumbass so hard.]

[laughs] Not much, we got interrupted. But I think he's really nervous about screwing things up. I just . . . wanted t let you know that his heart's in the right place, that's all. And if you want to talk to someone who may have been in a similar situation, you can always talk to me.

[adds another scoop of ice cream to Sasuke's plate.]

Similar situation? [Sasuke lips curve into a bit of smirk. He wouldn't put that kind of thing past his rather.. eccentric cousin. He is happy to have some more icecream, and an excuse to put something in his mouth so he doesn't have to talk. He doesn't even know if he wants to think about it.

Theres so much inknown at the moment. If he'd like to speak to anyone, it would be Naruto. But the idiot seems to have gone running for the hills.]

Ah, yeah. I ended up in a relationship with my best friend that kind of came about after years of death and maiming attempts. [Blushes] If you're curious, I don't really mind telling you.

[Just wants to be supportive. Has no idea if Itachi's supportive or not, and knows what it's like dating a guy for the first time at that age . . . well, in his case it was more like making out with . . . ]

My only real advice is try actually going on dates and not just using your intellect and his penchant for trouble to terrorize the neighborhood.

Mmm. Yeah, tell me.

[Doesn't know whether to be forth coming or tight lipped. He hasn't even really agreed that he and Naruto are anything more than friends - so he supposes he just wants to stay in safe conversation. He knows. Obito knows. But like hell Sasuke wants to talk about his goddamn feelings. Ew. :| ]

Dates. Mm.
We, uh, well, I mean,.. [Okay, yeah, Sasuke just going to stick to the above rule. It avoids confusion.]

[Man, where to start?] Well, uhh . . . I grew up with this guy, and we tried killing each other on a regular basis. Eventually our sensei managed to knock some sense into us, and we started a friendship. Got kinda curious, he and I started messing around, mostly kissing and making out. We got in all kinds of trouble together. It was . . strange. We broke up sometime in college. We're still good friends though.

[laughs] I take it you two really haven't talked about what you're doing, have you? [smirks] Yeah, we never really did either. Just kind of took what we had for granted, I think.
