what I'm thankful for (coming close to my birthday)....

Yes, it's almost that time of the year again...my birthday.  I just wanted to sit down and list what I am thankful for.

my boyfriend -- I'm still in 'La La land,' and am so in love with him.  I'm really looking forward to celebrating another anniversary -- 3 months in May :)  He is so awesome and wonderful and I love him so much.

my friends --- especially Meg and facebook <--- I will explain this one in a minute.  You see, if it weren't for facebook constantly recommending me as a friend to Andrew to the point he invited me as a friend, we probably wouldn't have met. Because between the two of us, we have three mutual friends and two of them I've known since high school.   And I always screen my friends requests on facebook so when I saw that he knew three of my friends, I accepted his friend request.  Then I checked out his picture and thought, 'Oh, he looks kinda cute.'  That same name night, Meg called me and was like, 'I know someone who has a crush on you and his name's Andrew.'  I was like, 'Huh -- an 'Andrew' friended me on facebook,' And she was like, 'That's him and he wants to meet you.'

At this point, I figured, hey, he's white and definitly not filipino (so I know he's not going to end up being related to me), so I agreed under the condition that the meeting take place at her house.  I could write about all the details but anyway...errr...this is a list of things I am grateful for.

graduating from GMU!  You all don't know how worried I was back in early November when I accidently deleted my senior project.  I was so freaked out that I would not be able to recover any of it and would be graduation limbo.   I wasn't even positive that the Mac recovering program I downloaded and paid $100 for would actually work; next to that, I hadn't purchased an external drive for Time Machine on my Mac. So yeah, I was in a really bad place and scared shit that I wouldn't graduate.

Then on the eve before the election, a miracle happened and that recovery software was able to save 95% of the project and once I was able to retrieve the narration from th mp3 recorder -- I knew someone was looking out for me.  And by the end of the semester, I had a successful senior show and my mom's food was a big hit.

My brother -- because even though facebook deserves a lot of credit for introducing me to Andrew -- the haircut appointment Ron got me in NY before Christmas helped a lot too, I think ;)

My parents for being so supportive of Andrew and me.  Not many parents I think would put up with their daughter making out with her boyfriend in the basement.

My job at the Chamber aka US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  Okay, it's not paid at the moment but I generally enjoy working there.  Everyone is so nice and all the interns are fun to hang out with.  We're all girls and there's one guy.  My bosses are nice too.

My extended family --  I have one cutie niece and possibly another little niece or nephew on the way.  Although I really hope Junmar and Joyce have a girl because if they did, I would spoil her so much.

That is what I'm thankful for.

my birthday, personal
