How do you transfer music from the iPod back to my Windows XP machine? I have set iPod for manual operations. Normally when I explore the drive from My Computer I see 3 folders: calendar, contacts, and notes; none of which contain my music. When I right click on the drive and "open as portable media device" I see an additional folder, ipod_control. I click on that and see 3 more folders: device, music, and iTunes. When I open ipod_control\music I see folders that are oddly named F00 - F49 plus random letters as names for the .mp3 files themselves. The properties of the ipod_control\music show 0 bytes--which is quite strange!
I can't find the instructions in the iPod booklet or online.
I want to be able to use the iPod as an external HD so that I can delete all my music from the computer. I'd like to be able to transfer music from the iPod to the computer for burning or other purposes.
Thanks!
