Starting anew

Life has been a strange thing for me of late. I have changed my attitude as to how the world works around me. I listen more to the universe and follow the tips and hints it gives me.

That being said, my next adventure is at hand.

For years I have been trying to go to Tractor Trailer Training School to be a truck driver. This is a job that satisfies my wanderlust that I have. Though it is dying down some, it is still a strong pull. Sitting in one spot still makes me somewhat jittery after awhile. I feel the need to just get in my vehicle of choice and just drive for an hour or two in a random direction to find whats there.

Being unemployed, I had to go to a standard workshop for rehire education. What I found there is that I am eligible for a scholarship for the training. More of a grant I think, I will find out more soon. There are hoops to jump through and I am willing to play the game again. I tried this before when I first moved to Florida. That didn't really pan out well. So it comes around again, except this time opportunity came a knocking and I opened the door to see whats up this time.

What this will mean is that I will be, eventually, an over the road driver for at least 2 years. This should give me enough experience to switch to local routes and such. If I get the right certifications and training, I want to try and be eligible to drive a tanker truck hauling liquids/fuel. These jobs are nice and local and pay very well. Be that as it may, that is a 2 to 4 year plan depending upon how things work out.

Tomorrow I go in for a career meeting with someone at the one-stop job place nearby to start the process of going forward. Who knows, if things work out well and I am traveling, I can see where people are about on my route and save money on hotels by couch crashing.. :) Doubtful on that though, not too many people have a driveway that an 18 wheeler will accommodate. LOL

More info on this once I know more myself.
