Are you listening to music while you monitor? If so, this may be why you are missing obvious things when monitoring. I am asking that you not listen to music while monitoring unless you are doing email monitors.

What an utter bitch. Yes, this is terminally-nice-me saying that about someone, but really... even if she were justified in making the request, there are definitely many more courteous ways to request someone change a behaviour. Ugh. Sorry you have to deal with that.
