Banner ads with sound that can't be disabled let terrorists win.
When I get bored at work, I surf movie news/rumor sites. A few have a God awful ad for The Butterfly Effect on DVD. It features the sound of shattering glass. Ah what a melodious sound! I like to set Winamp to shuffle between it, high-powered gunshots, a baby screaming, and the sound of loose stool being forcefully ejected into a toilet bowl. If it played once and that was it, I wouldn't mind as much, but it appears to repeat and there is no way to stop it. I have to listen via headphones to recorded calls at work so that sudden shattering not only scares the shit out of me, but it causes great pain. It's been five minutes since I was at the most recent offending site and my ears are still ringing!
Don't support terrorism: Turn off the sound!!!
(Btw, I tried disabling sound in IE, but it didn't seem to help. Anyone have any ideas?)
