Mission Walk to Millennium Park from Roscoe Village: Accomplished. (6 or 7 miles total, with stops.)

Mission Take Some Cool Pictures along the Way: Accomplished. (Though I don't know that I'll upload them.)

Mission Don't Get Any Fucking Blisters: Totally failed. My shoe situation blows.

Mission Don't Spend $65 at Borders When Stopping in to Use the Restroom: Er.... look! Shiny!

Seriously, though, I didn't do too bad. I picked up Moon & Antarctica and Good News For People Who Love Bad News by Modest Mouse, plus Audioslave's first album and Train's Drops of Jupiter for $8.99 apiece, the latest "will it never end?" installment in the Orson Scott Card's Ender series (in hardback) for $5.99, and What Color Is Your Parachute?, a more practical-seeming than usual career-seeking/changing guide which Kate had recommended to me. I was going to pick it up from the library, but I decided it was worth buying to have around on hand. I read about thirty pages of it while eating lunch at Soupbox (which rocks, for the record) and hanging out in Millennium Park. Hopefully it will give me lots of insight and advice.
